Brandon Johnson, AIA, NCARB

Founder & Licensed Architect

Brandon Johnson grew up in eastern North Carolina before heading to Charlotte to study architecture at UNC Charlotte, where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture. He’s been a registered architect in North Carolina since 2019 and holds NCARB certification and LEED AP accreditation.

Brandon’s path to architectural visualization wasn’t a straight line, and that’s what makes his work different. After school he spent two years as a design lead at Reaching Quiet, a design-build firm known for its artisan work in concrete, steel, and wood — designing custom furniture and interiors at a craft level. He also founded Independently New, a graphic design and branding studio whose clients included NASCAR, Duke Energy, 5Church and the Carolina Raptor Center. The 5Church Restaurant branding campaign earned a Silver ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation.

In 2011, Brandon joined 505Design, where he spent nearly a decade working on architectural and environmental graphic design projects. He became the firm’s Visual Technology Lead, directing the implementation of virtual reality, real-time rendering, and cinematic animation. His work on Nexton Folly in Summerville, SC earned an AIA Citation Award from the Charlotte Section. It was at 505 that architecture and visual storytelling fully converged, and the foundation for Bejohn Design took shape.

Brandon launched Bejohn Design in 2020 with a simple idea: renderings and animations are better when they’re created by someone who actually understands the architecture. He reads drawings with an architect’s eye, understands design intent and materiality, and brings a visual storytelling instinct shaped by years of branding, graphic design, and design-build work. It’s a combination you don’t get from a typical visualization consultant.

Today, Bejohn Design works with developers, architecture firms, and engineering consultancies across the country — from waterfront infrastructure and cruise port developments in the Caribbean and Southeast Asia to multifamily communities, mixed-use town centers, and commercial interiors closer to home.

Brandon lives in Davidson, NC with his wife and three kids.

Service

Every project begins with a clear understanding of your goals — whether you're presenting to investors, seeking entitlement approval, or marketing to buyers. From the first conversation through final delivery, the process is collaborative, efficient, and built around your timeline.

Excellence

An architect's training means reading your drawings with precision — understanding materiality, scale, light, and how people will actually experience the space. That translates into renderings with a level of accuracy and spatial intelligence that sets them apart from typical 3D visualization.

Reliability

Deadlines in development don't move. Renderings are delivered on schedule, every time. The workflow is streamlined to minimize back-and-forth while still giving you full control over the creative direction through structured revision rounds.
